You have a trip planned. Vacation, business, family emergency, whatever it may be. Who will
care for your precious pets? Will you call Jeff, the next-door neighbor boy and pray he doesn't
forget or decide to have a party at your house? Will you check with the kennel or your vet to
see if they have any cages available? Will you ask your sister, mother, brother, cousin or
that nice old lady across the street? They won't mind dropping in to let the dog out a few
times a day or just plopping down some food for the cat. Right? Or you could just leave a
huge bowl of food and water for the cat and worry about cleaning the litter box when you
return. The cat won't mind eating stale food or drinking dirty water. You wouldn't, would you?
If he knocks the water over, and becomes dehydrated or worse, the vet bills won't be a problem.
Will they? And when the litter gets too smelly and he decides to use the floor instead, you'll
understand. Won't you?
Home Alone?
We feel great satisfaction (and if we could purr, we would!) knowing our service allows your fur
babies to stay home with familiar sights, smells and their favorite napping spots. It's bad
enough they have to be without their adored "parents". They shouldn't have to be put in jail,
too! Cats are especially sensitive to being taken out of their environment and having their
routines disturbed. Being cat people, we can attest that they are not the cold, aloof creatures
they have the reputation as being. Cats are very independently minded, but are very dependant
on us to give them a sense of security and well being. Even "hidey cats" are accustomed to
human contact; and when left alone for many long hours, they can become depressed and stop
eating which can become a serious problem very quickly. A cat left on its own too long can
also become bored and get into a lot of trouble or simply overeat.
How About a Kennel?
Some dogs may do fine in a boarding situation and in fact may need to be kenneled due to severe
anxiety separation or if they are ill. However, most dogs and virtually all cats will be less
stressed by remaining in their own secure environment at home. If you are thinking of kenneling
your pets, here are some additional questions you might want answered.
What the ratio of kennel keepers to animals boarded. What is there maximum boarding capacity?
How qualified are the employees? Are they part time high school students? Are they supervised?
Who supervises and what is that person's title?
Are the dogs walked individually, turned out in groups or walk with several other dogs?
How long and how often do they exercise dogs each day? Do they charge extra for being out of
their cages longer? Do they charge for extra walks? Do they document exercise, medications and
feeding? Do they charge extra for administering medications? How often are the cages/kennels
cleaned and what do they use to clean them? What do they actually charge and what hidden costs
are there such as extra fees for Sunday pickup?
Sometimes, it appears kennels are cheaper, but is it? And is it the best care you can provide
for your priceless pets?
The Cat's Meow Service
Consider instead letting us as pet care professionals cherish your pets in the comfort and
security of their own home while you are away. Your sweet pets will not be traumatized by travel
to the boarding destination. You won't be inconvenienced or upset by transporting your pet.
Ask yourself if you would rather spend your vacation in a hospital like setting or in a nice
comfortable and relaxing one. And are you sure the other pets boarded have been vaccinated and
treated soon enough to prevent spreading and possible exposure to your pet? Do you really want
to impose on a friend, neighbor or relative who may forget to care for your pet or might not
know what to do in the event of an emergency?
Our visits are customized to you and your pets needs. Generally visits are once a day for cats;
however, it's far better for older and very young cats to be seen twice a day. Dogs are usually
visited two to four times a day. At a regular time for each visit, they are given their own special
fresh food and water. Litter boxes are scooped, mail, newspapers and packages are brought in, plants
are watered as you request and curtains and lights can be adjusted to give your home that 'lived in'
look. We won't leave until your pets get our undivided loving attention and playtime.
Our primary service area is within Sun City Grand where we reside though we service all of Surprise and some areas of Sun City West. Our base rate is $17 to $25 per visit determined on about a 20 minute block of time required to give quality care to your pet(s) and home. We don't leave until your pet(s) and home have been cared for properly. Rates are not negotiable. They are determined according to requested services such as dog walking, medication administration and time and travel distance required to care for your pet(s) and home.
Professional pet and home sitting is not an economy care option and we realize it
may not be in everyone's budget. However, it's a small price considering the peace of mind,
convenience and home security provided by experienced, insured, responsible, reliable and
dedicated pet and home care professionals. Please feel free to call or write for more
information. We will be happy to provide you with references should you request them.
