OUR VISIT
We know you will want to hear all about your pet's adventures while you were away! We leave a report to let you know how the visits were while you were away. Aside from the adorable things your pet does, we also note how well your pet is eating and drinking, relieving him/herself, whether medicine has been given, and if there have been any problems. These notes also aid us in monitoring for potential health problems.
We try to leave every house as we found it on our first visit. We aren't housekeepers,
but we do sweep up excessive pet hair, scattered food, litter and cage bedding, clean up
pet "accidents" as best we can, and wash water and food bowls as necessary or instructed.
If requested, we will pick up doggy piles in your yard as they occur, but will not pick
up pre-existing piles. Litter boxes are scooped at every visit. We do wash our hands
between each visit to minimize your pet's exposure to disease (which is much lower than
at a boarding facility). We know you don't have fleas in your home, but we want you to
know we don't accept jobs in homes where fleas are a problem to avoid exposing other
client 's homes (and our own!) to infestation.
Visits for dogs will be spaced according to the number of daily visits. Cats and birds
will be visited approximately the same time each day depending on the schedule. We can
only guarantee a reasonable amount of time between visits for your pet based on how many
visits per day you request. Usually, the client who receives the earliest morning visit
also receives the earliest visit on our afternoon and/or evening rounds. Generally,
indoor dogs needing to go out receive the earliest visits of the day, then cats and
outdoor dogs. Animals needing medicine on a strict schedule (for example, diabetic
animals needing insulin) will receive the highest scheduling priority.
In the event of extreme heat or flooded roads, your pet's outdoor time/ walk may be
limited to help ensure safety. We will make up for it with extra attention to your pets
indoors. If we feel your pet is in danger of being too hot or too cold indoors, we do
reserve the right to turn on fans, air conditioning, and heating as needed. Outdoor
animals may be moved inside or boarding arrangements may be made if we feel your pet is
in danger due to exposure to extreme conditions. And, many dogs do not like to go out
in the rain or heat - but if yours is one of them, you know that already. We will do
the best we can to get them to "take care of business".
We do everything we can to give homes a "lived-in" look: lights, blinds, and drapes can
be alternated, mail and papers are taken in, and garbage is put out for collection. Any
other reasonable requests to keep your home secure will be honored. We never disclose
the names and addresses of our clients (excluding names and phone numbers used by
permission as references) and make every effort to conceal our client's absence.
For your pet's and home's safety, our policy is that we must visit at least once a day
while you are away.
