PREPARATION MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Now you have your paperwork in order, profiles and records are on file, we've completed
our meeting and your trip is eminent. We will call you to confirm your date and time of

- Make sure your dog has a collar that fits; not too big, not too small.
Put ID tags on all collars.
- Chew toys help dogs while away the hours in your absence.
Toy mice, balls, feathers and cat nip for cats.
- Leave a tee shirt you've recently worn where your pet sleeps for a security blanket.
- Set your thermostat at a comfortable temperature for your pets. Heat can cause more problems beside just discomfort.
- Stock up on enough pet food and kitty litter to last the entire time you are away and then some in case you are delayed in returning. However, we don't mind running to the store for you if you don't mind the extra charge.
- We will be cleaning your pet(s) bowls frequently and, of course, litter boxes each visit. However, we would appreciate it very much if you don't leave them in gross condition for our first visit.
- We don't flush cat litter, not even the flushable type, so please leave us plenty of plastic bags for disposal.
- If your pet is having an "under the weather" week, let us know.
- If you have rugs or carpet that require special cleaning solutions, please be sure to leave us the proper cleaner along with cleaning instructions in case of a pet accident.
- If you have a security alarm system, please notify the company that a pet sitter will be coming to your home and give them our name and phone number.
- Most pet visits consist of early morning and evening visits. We would appreciate it if you would leave one or two lights on or set up timer lights so we won't have to walk into a dark house.
- Make sure all doors, sliders and windows are secured including the garage before leaving. We will keep the garage entrance door locked unless you tell us otherwise.
- Put away and secure all small valuables.
- Leaving a television or radio on while you're away can be an excellent crime deterrent and good companionship for your pet.
- To prevent damage from electrical storms or pet injuries (chewers), unplug any unnecessary appliances.
- If there are areas of your home that is off limits to your pet(s), please shut the door or gate the area.
- Continue mail and newspaper delivery. We can bring them inside, should you want this service.
- Inform your neighbors of your absence and that you have contracted our services. We will need to know who has access to your home. Should we arrive and find things out of place or a stranger in your home, we will call the police first and ask questions later.
- Count heads right before you leave. You wouldn't want to lock anyone in a closet.
- Be sure to let us know if your departure or return is delayed, and take our card with you so you can call us.
